Blue Eiderdown: Volume VIII, Episode 2

This is a terrific show and very different from American cop shows.
The lead characters investigate murder which usually, though not always, has a sexual component. Unlike our shows the clues and motives don't scream at the viewer in obvious ways. The cops are sometimes shown to be at a complete loss for a direction to take the investigation and they miss clues and make mistakes. On an American show when a cop misses a clue the camera zooms in on it so the viewer has the answers. But here we get the pleasure of watching with the cops as they muddle through their errors, correct themselves, and eventually figure it out. Often a split screen is used so we see different aspects of the investigation going forward simultaneously. The dialogue feels very genuine, not merely a device to explain the plot to the viewers. Also, the cops have huge problems in their personal lives which sometimes figure into the plots in interesting ways. Most of the stories are presented in two episodes of about 70 minutes each so there's plenty of time to develop a story...

Poorly written, weak plot.
So many of the episodes of this series are excellent. But this follows in the steps of the 6th episode, substituting sensationalism for solid writing and direction.

This, however, is far weaker than episode 6, and sexist and silly in addition to poorly conceived.
