Great film
08-13-13 Great film, great cast and acting... Long as ever but that's usual for Bollywood... If you have patience and are used to India's loooong movies, you'll like this one... Some of the songs, especially the sad one that Madhu sang was really nice.

Bad quality
Very poor quality picture and sound. If this continues I will no longer watch movie on amazon. So do some thing.

A classic Bollywood tearjerker with beautiful songs
"Kati Patang" is another one of those classic Bollywood movies that not only has a riveting plot and wonderful actors, but melodious songs that make it memorable. I watched this movie for the first time in the early 80s and the story and songs are still embedded somewhere in my subconscious. The storyline is a typical damsel in distress type with Madhavi (Asha Parekh) going through hell and back in order to find true happiness. There's a dashing hero, played by Rajesh Khanna, and a villain played by Prem Chopra (who made a name for himself playing villains in many Bollywood films).

The songs are memorable and meaningful (unlike some Bollywood songs today which lack both rhythm and meaningful lyrics). Amongst my favorites are Pyar Deewana Hota Hai, and Yeh Shaam Mastani. The chemistry between the main leads make this a must-watch - it's a slow, simmering love that rings very true, and is one of my favorite Bollywood romantic dramas.
